Refocused college algebra and QL are closely intertwined. A college algebra course developed in cooperation with faculty in other departments and focused on the needs of students with respect to academic disciplines, the workplace, and society provides a solid base for a QL program. The interdisciplinary cooperation provides opportunities for faculty in the humanities, social, and life sciences to present the quantitative aspects of their courses as extended applications of the college algebra course.
